GLEN GOUDIE RETURNS AS FIRST TEAM MANAGER

Reading YMCA FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Glenn Goudie as the club's new First Team Manager, marking a hugely anticipated return for one of the club's most successful managers.

Glenn begins his second spell in charge having previously enjoyed an outstanding four-year tenure at the club. His achievements included winning the league title, the BTC Cup and the prestigious Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup against Step 6 and Step 7 opposition. He also returned for a spell with the club's reserve side, helping them secure a third-place finish.

Since leaving Reading YMCA, Glenn spent the past decade at Step 5 and Step 6 in various roles before returning to help the club finish the season earlier this year.

Chairman Mark Lemm believes Glenn's permanent return is a major boost for the club.

"It is massive for us to have Glenn back for his second spell in charge of the club. During his first spell, Glenn won multiple trophies and set us up for a sustained period of success. Glenn has spent the last decade at Step 5 and Step 6, and we hope he can use all this experience to get us back to the top end of the table again. Most importantly, he has a bond with the club and will get the very best out of the squad."

Speaking after his appointment, Glenn reflected on his previous time at the club while looking firmly towards the future.

"I had a great four-year period with the club. We won the league, the BTC Cup and the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup, and I later came back after a season away to help the reserve side finish third. The aim is to improve the squad, help the players develop both individually and collectively and simply to give the players the platform to perform to the best of their ability."
