Following the recent drought and its impact on pitch conditions and availability across the county, the Thames Valley Premier League has provisionally postponed fixtures in Divisions 1–4, including the reserve Division One, until Saturday 3 October.
This decision affects the Rapids, whose league campaign will now be delayed while the situation is reviewed. The league will carry out weekly reviews from Friday 4th September in consultation with pitch providers, with the start date potentially brought forward if conditions improve. Clubs will receive a minimum of two weeks notice before fixtures resume.
There has been no mention of the Premier Division in the league’s update, so at this stage we expect our First Team season to begin as planned on Saturday 5 September.
